The best of The Coffey Blog 2015

The team at Coffey Communications has had a great and productive year. One of the things we're proudest of is the launch of this blog back in March. Writing these posts has given us another opportunity to do what we do best—help healthcare marketers solve problems and connect with people in their communities in meaningful ways. (We've even taken home a few awards for the work we've done here!)

As the year draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to share some of the topics and posts from this year that have resonated most with our readers.

Healthcare content

In 2015, we wrote about this topic most. It's no coincidence. After all, for more than 30 years, Coffey's mission has been to communicate health and healthcare information that enriches people's lives. Delivering engaging healthcare content is at the heart of everything we do for our clients, whether it's a hospital magazine or website design.

Here's our readers' favorite post about healthcare content this year: Spot On! 4 Key Attributes of Compelling Healthcare Content.

And in case you missed it, here's a post from last week that speaks to our mission and how we approach it: Great Healthcare Content: Bring the VALUE! (poster).

Website design

We love creating blog posts based on questions that come from healthcare marketers. These popular website design posts were inspired by questions we often get asked:

How to Choose a Company to Build Your Hospital's Website
How to Know if Your Hospital's Website Needs a Redesign

Magazines and newsletters

Coffey has a long history of creating compelling and engaging print publications for hospitals and health plans. So, it's no surprise that one of our most popular blog posts this year was on this topic. The goal-setting advice we offered in this post is relevant to any healthcare marketer who uses print to reach their community.

Hospital SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the topics our readers were most interested in this year. We published this post on March 30, but it continues to be one of the most read items on the blog week after week.

Healthcare SEO Basics: Why Keywords Still Matter

E-newsletters

Another topic we're often asked for advice on is e-newsletters. Email is a powerful tool for connecting healthcare organizations with consumers. But creating a successful email campaign requires skill and constant measurement, testing and adjustment. Here are 2 posts that healthcare marketers have found particularly helpful this year:

6 Steps to Write Better Subject Lines for Your Healthcare E-Newsletter
3 Numbers That Can Show You if Your Healthcare E-Newsletter Is Working

Mobile solutions

Mobile continued to be an important topic for healthcare marketers in 2015. Google's announcement early in the year that it would give preference to mobile-friendly websites in mobile search results gave marketers another important reason to offer a good website experience to people who use mobile devices. If your hospital's website isn't mobile friendly, this blog post and infographic can give you an idea of your options. For even more details, give us a call at 888.805.9101.

Social media

Social media is far from a new phenomenon, but many healthcare organizations still aren't using it or are having trouble getting value from the time they invest on social. To help, we created an e-book Selling—or Upselling—Social Media to the C-Suite. And we shared some of the best tips from the book in this blog post: 7 Ways Your Healthcare Organization Can Use Social Media.

Thanks for reading!

It's been a pleasure writing for you this year. We're looking forward to another great year of The Coffey Blog in 2016. As always, we love hearing from you. If you have a question or an idea for a topic, please do send us an email.
