Working for Coffey might mean relocating to our community. In fact, most of our jobs do require a move to Walla Walla. That's good news. While Walla Walla may not have been on your radar in the past, there are plenty of great reasons to celebrate a move to this community—ranked one of Washington's 10 most beautiful towns.View our current openings
Here are 9 reasons Walla Walla might be right for you and your family.
1. A warm welcome
Just a few years ago, USA Today selected Walla Walla as one of the five best small towns in America—due, in part, to the friendly nature of our community. As a recent transplant remarked, “People here just go out of their way to help you.”
2. Thriving arts scene
Treat yourself to an evening of music courtesy of the Walla Walla Symphony, the oldest continuous symphony orchestra west of the Mississippi. Catch a Shakespeare play or other live performance at the Gesa Power House Theater, a world-class, 300-seat playhouse. Enjoy a show at The Little Theater, which has been wowing local audiences for more than 70 years. Or see a performance or lecture at one of our three area colleges.
3. Delicious food
Walla Walla has been called a mecca for foodies—and the chefs who love to delight them. Discover restaurants that match the quality of those anywhere, including one the Seattle Times referred to as the "it" place for gourmets. We're also home to a growing fleet of fun and diverse food trucks. Andrae's Kitchen was actually voted the 2016 Food Truck Restaurant of the Year.
4. A thriving economy
One of the most fertile agricultural areas in the region, Walla Walla is surrounded by fields of wheat, its famous Walla Walla Sweets onions and other crops. But its economy is also a diverse one, with many area residents employed in healthcare, retail, manufacturing and government services. And with its special blend of culture and charm, Walla Walla is a leading tourist attraction.
5. Events you don't want to miss
Stand in awe as hot-air balloons float over Walla Walla during our annual balloon stampede. Every Saturday from April through October, pick out the freshest produce possible at our popular farmers markets. During ArtWalk, the first Friday of the month (May through December), take a leisurely stroll through our many art galleries and chat with local artists.
6. Outdoor opportunities
From the mountains to the rivers to the trails, Walla Walla is a hub for everything outdoorsy.
7. An easy commute
The average commute time in Walla Walla is about 10 minutes, which means more time for family and recreation.
8. Excellent schools and colleges
Walla Walla is home to nationally recognized Whitman College and Walla Walla Community College, a 2013 co-winner of the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. In nearby College Place, you'll also find Walla Walla University. Walla Walla also boasts excellent public schools.
