This list doesn't contain many surprises. We've been talking about mobile first for quite some time, as we're sure you have been too. But these are worthy trends to be tracking. The need for high-quality content will be even more important in 2016 than in past years. And how that content will be accessed will play an ever more important role in what content to deliver, to who and on what channel.
Healthcare marketers know the importance of search engine optimization (SEO) for their websites. While nailing down the basics of SEO is still one of the most important things a healthcare marketer can do, it's a good idea to be aware of what's new in the field too. We're particularly interested to see how the intersection between SEO and social media plays out in the coming year.
A note: You'll find a mobile-first forecast again in this article. But take that prediction about the death of desktop-specific sites with a grain of salt. Google's John Mueller provided some good context in this Google+ post.
This piece includes some bold statements. While some of the advice here might be a reach for many healthcare marketing departments, the key principles—simple design, employee engagement and data-based design decisions—are universal. And connecting to the consumer in all of these design decisions makes good sense, no matter what year it is.
