                    Using AI in healthcare marketing
Since the release of ChatGPT in 2022, AI tools have become central to how many organizations create content, streamline operations and generate insights.
At Coffey, we’ve spent time testing and refining our approach to AI so that it supports the work of our expert teams. If you’re exploring ways to use AI, here are some of the principles we follow and recommend.
Prioritize privacy and security
Any use of AI should start with a review of how it handles personal or protected information. For example, we don’t input confidential or proprietary data into public AI tools.
Tip: Set clear internal policies about what can and can’t be shared with AI platforms.
Keep a human in the loop
AI supports our work, but people still lead it. Whenever AI is used, a member of Coffey’s team sets the direction and reviews the output.
Tip: Build a review step into every AI-assisted workflow to protect quality and consistency.
Focus on areas where AI adds value
Not every task benefits from automation, but some do. We’ve found AI to be useful for:
- Analyzing data.
- Brainstorming story ideas.
- Editing images.
- Scheduling and workflow.
- Summarizing text and creating outlines.
- Writing and debugging code.
Tip: Map your team’s content workflows and flag high-volume, low-complexity tasks where AI could save time.
Be transparent
We keep an open dialogue, both internally and with clients, about where and how we’re using AI. We share what’s working, what we’ve learned and where we’re still cautious.
Tip: Document your AI use and be ready to explain how it fits into your process.
