Count On Coffey
Back to Issue 2, 2026Case study: Grundy County Memorial Hospital
Grundy County Memorial Hospital partnered with Coffey Communications to redesign its website with one clear goal: Make it easier for patients to find care while giving the internal team greater independence and flexibility. The result is a modern, intuitive digital experience that better reflects the hospital's services, brand and role in the community.
Challenges
The previous website reflected internal organizational structure rather than how patients search for care. Services and clinics were separated in ways that created confusion for users.
In addition, the marketing team had limited control over key features like the provider directory and events calendar, and the site needed a stronger consumer perspective while
still aligning with the hospital's parent brand standards.
Solutions
A more intuitive site architecture. Services were consolidated into a single, centralized section, eliminating barriers created by the previous "services vs. clinics" structure and making it easier for users to understand care options.
Improved location and access information. Clinic operations and facility details were organized within a dedicated Locations module, helping patients quickly find hours, phone numbers and where to go for care.
Stronger service-line content. High-priority service pages, including Orthopedics & Surgery, were rewritten to better communicate value, benefits and next steps using clear, consumer-friendly language.
Greater autonomy for staff. With a more intuitive content management system, the marketing team gained control over the provider directory and calendar of events. Coffey's Site Assist Provider Directory module allows employed providers to be highlighted and affiliated providers to be linked to external profiles—reducing maintenance while maintaining accuracy.
A design that balances brand alignment and local identity. The new design incorporates local photography and Grundy County Memorial Hospital's unique visual elements, while subtly aligning with parent brand standards through color and design cues.
Results
The redesigned website delivers a clearer, more consumer-focused experience that helps patients find care faster and with less friction. Internally, the marketing team now has the tools and independence to keep content fresh, manage events and maintain provider information without unnecessary complexity.
The new site strengthens Grundy County Memorial Hospital's digital front door, supporting patient access, reinforcing brand trust and positioning the organization for future growth.
