Count On Coffey
Back to Issue 6, 2026Case study: CarolinaEast Health System Pediatrics
When CarolinaEast Health System set out to bring its standalone pediatrics site into its main website, the goal was simple: create a better experience for families without creating more complexity for CarolinaEast’s team.
The result? A streamlined, user-friendly pediatrics page—and what the client called their “easiest web transition ever.”
The challenge
CarolinaEast’s pediatrics content lived on a separate site, making it harder for users to find key information and more cumbersome for the team to maintain. The content itself was also more complex than it needed to be, which could overwhelm busy parents looking for quick answers.
The approach
Coffey partnered with CarolinaEast to simplify both the structure and the process.
The team focused on what families need most: hours, contact information, MyChart access and core services. To improve usability, Coffey recommended an accordion layout, making the page easy to scan while keeping detailed information accessible without clutter.
The process itself was also streamlined. Instead of requiring a full content audit, Coffey supported the client in drafting concise, focused copy, helping avoid unnecessary costs while still delivering a strong result.
Throughout the redesign, key brand elements were preserved, including the pediatrics logo and a prominent “Reach Out and Read” donation link, ensuring continuity with the existing program.
The outcome
The new pediatrics page is now fully integrated into the CarolinaEast website, offering a clearer, more intuitive experience for families and a simpler content structure for the internal team to manage.
But the most meaningful result came from the client’s perspective: The transition itself felt easy.
That ease reflects more than just a successful page launch. It highlights a process that was clear, efficient and low-stress, proving that thoughtful strategy and collaboration can improve not only the final product, but the experience of getting there.
