Case study: Redesigning Good Samaritan’s site

A digital experience built to show a commitment to community

A website is often a patient's first interaction with a healthcare organization. Good Samaritan Hospital's leadership wanted a website that better reflected its identity as an independent, community-focused health system while making it easier for patients to access care and resources.

The challenge

Good Samaritan's existing website had become difficult to manage and no longer met the expectations of today's healthcare consumers. Navigation made it challenging for users to find what they needed, while the content management system (CMS) limited the marketing team's ability to make updates without outside support.

To better differentiate Good Samaritan from larger regional competitors, the new website needed to highlight the hospital's advanced clinical capabilities while maintaining the warmth and personalized feel that define its approach to care. The redesign also needed to improve search visibility, support strategic growth initiatives and provide an intuitive experience for a broad, multigenerational audience.

The solution

Coffey Communications designed a modern, mobile-first website centered on the needs of patients and visitors. A simplified navigation structure helps users quickly find what they need.
The new CMS gives Good Samaritan's marketing team much greater flexibility. Staff can independently update homepage content, manage provider listings, organize locations, publish news and success stories, and build new pages. Enhanced multimedia capabilities make managing video content a more reliable process while offering analytics that help measure user engagement.

The refreshed visual design reinforces Good Samaritan's unique identity through bold typography; engaging photography; and clean, open design.

The results

The redesigned website gives Good Samaritan Hospital a strong digital foundation for future growth. Patients can more easily connect with providers and services, and the website better reflects the organization's brand, supports marketing initiatives and improves content discoverability through stronger SEO. Internally, the marketing team can more easily keep content current and respond more quickly to organizational needs.
